The situation is as a result of management's failure to check-in buses to transport people to Accra and other parts of the country following Wednesday’s tragic accident.

 
 
Source: Daily Graphic Ghana - The Management of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Limited has offered to pay the medical bills of victims who were involved in Wednesday night’s accident on the Kintampo-Tamale road.

The MMT has also said it had begun investigations into the accident involving its bus with registration number AS 7131 Y and a tomato-loaded truck.
As of Thursday afternoon, the death toll had risen to 61, while a total of 25 people are receiving treatment at various hospitals.

An eyewitness told Joy News a driver of an articulated vehicle lost control after his brake failed and bumped into a vehicle in front of him.

Up to 15 vehicles, including two taxis and other commercial vehicles which were in front were also hit by vehicles trailing them.
