Nana Akufo-Addo was addressing members of his party at the Tamale Radach Memorial Lodge conference hall as part of his two-day ‘Rise and Build’ campaign tour of the Northern Region.
He asked Ghanaians to have confidence in him and vote the NPP into power to fix the economy.
He boasted that the NPP has men and women of integrity capable of fixing the ailing Ghanaian economy.
Nana Akufo-Addo however insisted that party unity was the panacea to wrestle power from the NDC at the 2016 polls.
He thus impressed upon all NPP loyalists to cease the media warfare on internal issues and focus on affairs that will attract floating voters in 2016.
“We all have to come together to make it possible for us to win the 2016 elections.”
Nana Ado tasked party leadership at all levels to target winning majority of parliamentary seats in the Northern Region.
Two leading NPP members, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku and Prince Imoro Andani called the bluff of people sabotaging the party’s chances of winning the 2016 elections.
Dr. Apraku urged all NPP members to shelve their parochial interest and rally behind Nana Akufo-Addo.
He said the NPP deserves to win the next general elections because of Nana Ado’s genuine intention for the nation’s economic transformation.
“As democrats who believe in democracy, we have to bury our differences and pay a price for victory in 2016.”
Dr. Apraku emphasized the need for the party’s campaign strategy to target supporters of other political parties and floating floaters.
Prince Imoro Andani said a united NPP will certainly ensure the party’s victory in 2016.
“We are all aware that everybody in Ghana today is looking up to the NPP. We will not have any excuse to the good people of this country if we do not make it in the 2016 elections.”
The former Northern Regional Minister accused government of ‘collapsing rural agriculture which is the economic mainstay of most rural dwellers.
Other NPP bigwigs addressed the gathering and reiterated the need for party unity.
