Source: - The Elmina Police in the Central Region have arrested 35 suspects in connection with the chieftaincy dispute which resulted in some police officers being injured last week.

Members of the Municipal Security Committee led by the Chief Executive, Isaac Kweku Sam, visited the community to assure residents of their safety.
According to reports, two people sustained gunshot wounds during a clash between families on a chieftaincy matter.

Since the clashes, things have not returned to normal with schools closed down and trading activities halted in the town.

Most of the people especially the youth are said to have fled the town for fear of reprisal attacks by the feuding factions.

The community has now turned to a ghost town.

Commander for the area, DSP Godfred Asare has however vowed to deal with those who vandalized the police vehicles and injured some of his men as they still look out for 12 other ring leaders to pick up.
