The two robbers shot through the bedroom door of the couple, killing 41-year old Mrs Bernice Adjorlolo, wife of Mr David Adjorlolo, the campaign manager of the Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament.
He said he together with the wife pushed the door closed and locked it but the robbers ordered them to open or they would shoot at them.
The campaign manager added that as he was about to unlock the door when the robbers shot through the door piercing the chest of his wife who fell and died instantly.
Mr Adjorlolo further stated that the criminals then marched him to his drawers and demanded for some money which he told them he does not have.
The robbers, he said, left after searching through all his drawers and did not find any money adding that he later noticed that they stole his television.
Mr Alfred Agbesi, who was in the company of Mr Adjorlolo, described the incident as pathetic and unfortunate but ruled out any connection of the attack to his campaign saying it was a mere coincidence.
Mr Agbesi said he has declared two days mourning for the deceased therefore suspending every form of campaign during the period.
He advised the residents to be vigilant and weed out such miscreants from the society by forming watchdog committees and questioning suspicious characters in their vicinities.
Superintendent William Daah, Ashaiman District Crime Officer, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency.
