Her relatives, who were at the Tamale Magistrate Court, immediately, paid the fine to forestall any imprisonment moments after the court, presided over by Mr Augustine Essah, pronounced the judgement.
The court on Monday deferred her sentence to last Wednesday.
Also in court were the parents of the stolen baby boy to listen to the verdict that would be handed to Vida who looked remorseful as the judgment was read.
The convict was arrested at Karaga for stealing a two-day-old baby boy belonging to one Limah Addo at the Tamale West Hospital.
The 27-year-old had just been delivered of her baby at the hospital and was looking for a taxi cab home when the suspect surfaced and under the guise of helping, stole the baby.
Vida, who was later arrested in Karaga after investigations, was charged with the offence and arraigned before the court.
