Yakubu, has been identified as one of the young men who came to the hospital last Tuesday night to visit a patient and later went to mobilise some irate youth from his area to attack the hospital after some nurses on duty at the hospital asked him to move away from the ward to receive a phone call.
A brief facts of the case was that Yakubu in the company of another person went to the SDA Hospital on October 27, 2015 around 8.30 pm to visit a driver at the emergency unit but rather went to the pediatric ward and was asked to leave there as a result of a noisy telephone conversation he was having.
Yakubu who got infuriated by the orders from the nurses on duty to go outside to have the conversation on the phone because he was disturbing the patients in the ward went to mobilise some youth from Changili who attacked the hospital and in the process assaulted four nurses on duty.
The attack on the hospital led to a temporarily closure of the hospital but was later reopened while the nurses who were assaulted during the attack were also given police medical forms to go to the hospital.
A police team that arrived at the hospital after a distress call was place to them met the absence of the mob who had then fled the scene.
A report was made to the police which led to his Yakubu's) arrest and subsequent prosecution after investigations.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr. Ebenezer Tetteh told Graphic online that Yakubu was sent to the Dapkema chief of Tamale palace who also handed him over to the police.
It would be recall that the Graphic online on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 published a story headlined " Irate Youth Attack Tamale SDA Hospital"
It read "Some irate youth from Changili,, a suburb in the Tamale Metropolis on Monday night attacked the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Hospital in Tamale and in the process assaulted four nurses who were on duty at the hospital".
