The convicts, Yakubu Aliu and Ernest Kona both 19 years were found guilty by the court for the murder of Dauda Adams, 23 after they had pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy to commit crime of murder.
The deceased at the site was approached by the convicts who told him that they had gold in their possession which they wanted to sell so they asked the deceased to follow them.
They took the deceased into the bush and one of them went for a gun and shot the deceased at close range killing him instantly.
The convicts then buried the deceased in the bush and took a bag that he (deceased) was holding which contained gold and an unspecified amount of money and later bought motorbikes for themselves with the money.
The whereabouts of the deceased was not known until a report was made to the police which led to the arrest of the convicts. They later took the police to where they had buried the deceased.
